Location is a fundamental decision for a business making concrete blocks. While you may start in your garage, with any amount of success you will quickly outgrow that space. So the next decision is location.
One clear decision that has to be made is this: are you going to sell to contractors only (more of a wholesale relationship), or to the public as well? This may not seem to be too important, but it is critical when considering location. If you place your business in an outlying area, planning to deliver to contractors, you are locking yourself into that business model for the duration that you are in that location. The prohibitive cost of moving a business that involves large concrete block building machines makes it incredibly difficult to have a change of heart sometime down the road, so it pays you to think about this aspect of your business before you buy your first machine.
